Aviation and auto enthusiasts take their passion to the next level as they learn to build 3D models of cars and airplanes in this weeklong workshop. DREAMHOUSE BUILDERS
As the great Picasso once said, “everything you can imagine is real” and The Handwork Studio is here to prove it! In this program, campers imagine and design the house of their dreams. How about slides instead of stairs? How about a full blown rainbow interior? Sure, why not! In this model making program, anything is possible. The week starts as campers flex their pencils and imagination muscles to draw out blueprints. Campers will design interiors, understand how to work in-scale, and learn three-dimensional building techniques. Then they’ll use a model making kit to bring their dream house to life. Next thing you know, they will want to build a shrink ray so they can go live in the house of their dreams! (Don’t worry, we don’t teach kids how to build one of those, yet…)

Campers learn 2D and 3D constructing, blueprint design, and other fundamentals to let their cars soar! Campers experiment by exploring cause-and-effect within their designs to achieve new results. By the end of the week, campers will showcase racetracks that Mario (and, of course, Luigi) wishes he could drive!

INSPIRATION CREATION
One might think a bottle cap discarded on the ground is trash, while another might see that cap as the missing piece to their masterpiece. As the saying goes, “one person's junk, another person's treasure.” In Inspiration Creation, campers think outside of the box to discover and examine the potential of different mediums that go beyond the paint palette. From exploring collage arts made from found objects to using molds, liquid resin, mosaics, and more, campers get to try their hand at different techniques and explore a wide variety of materials. The possibilities are infinite once campers gain the know-how. By the end of the week, campers walk away with their artwork, a love for creative expression, and perhaps a new favorite technique.

Star Wars Galactic Builders
Calling all heroes! In a handwork-inspired camp not so far, far away, the Rebel Alliance needs some assistance! While Han got credit for flying the Millenium Falcon, Chewy knew how to keep it running! Campers embrace their inner Wookie as they learn to design re-creations of their favorite intergalactic moments, from ships to supplies to a favorite character! At the end of the week, they showcase their replicas in a diorama–that they also created! The Force is definitely with our galactic builders in this camp! We’ll have you saying "Luke, I am your model-making kit" in no time!

Classes start with a problem that needs to be solved using acquired knowledge, skills, teamwork, and creativity. Everyone is sure to have a mega good time!

PUBLISHED AUTHORS
Does your camper have what it takes to become the next Harper Lee? Do they have a knack for spinning fantastical tales that are just waiting to be captured? Then they’ll love filling in the blank pages of their soon-to-be-published book with stories developed from their imagination. But we’re also keeping a mega secret! This highly engaging camp incorporates a research based curriculum that is standards-aligned. Our project-based format promotes literacy skills, where campers will gain increased reading and comprehension, and build their vocabulary, presentation, and critical thinking skills. Still, we know the big win for our budding authors will be seeing all their hard work turned into a “published” glossy hardcover book of their story to display proudly on the bookshelf with other legends of the pen.
