Have fun this summer with us!

Germantown Academy Summer Camps is 126 acres of amazing and we can't wait to meet your camper! They  could be seen flying down our forest zip line, making desserts in a professional kitchen, learning their lines for the upcoming musical, crushing new soccer skills on one of our artificial turf fields, and so much more!  There are lots of fantastic camps to choose from and every one of them is run by an experienced counselor, coach, or coordinator.  Let's meet our staff leaders!

Hello! My name is Dan Stahl and I am the Day Camp Director here at GA Summer Camps. During the school year, I’m the Lower School Technology Coordinator and Educator at Penn Charter. I have been working with GA Summer Programs for over 20 years! Some reasons that I love camp is that it’s a place for children to take safe risks, meet new people, and grow as individuals!

The campers, the amazing counselors and staff, and the wonderful facilities are all reasons that I keep coming back year after year! I can’t wait to see our returning campers and see some new faces this summer.

Hello everyone, happy summer! My name is Kyle Donahue, and I am the Director of Sports Camp here at Germantown Academy Summer Camps. During the school year, I am an Upper School History and Upper School Physical Education Teacher. I also am an Assistant Coach on the Varsity Football team. I went to Dickinson College for my undergraduate degree and have my Master’s in Education from Arcadia University. I also am an Alumni of GA! I started working for the summer programs department in 2013 and have loved coming back every year.

My favorite part of the summer camp experience is watching the hundreds of campers enjoy this beautiful campus in all different ways. I love being able to help provide the fun these kids need and great instruction from so many wonderful coaches and counselors each year. From the first day of camp until the last, hot august day, I hope to make our camp experience the highlight of so many kids summer vacation!

Hi, my name is Tanya Friedman.  I have been the year-round Director of Child Care at Germantown Academy since August of 2015.  In 2017, I was happy to also join the GA Summer Programs team as the Director of Adventurer Day Camp.  Camp is an exciting and fun time at GA.  I love welcoming our youngest campers to campus each summer and the kids are really what makes this role so special to me.  My goal each summer is to create a fun, hands-on camp experience where our youngest campers are encouraged to explore, create, and stay active throughout the camp day.  I look forward to welcoming your campers this summer!

Hello! My name is Andrea McDonald.  I am the Assistant Director for the Adventurer Camp.  This will be my 13th year working with Summer Programs. During the school year I teach in GA’s Lower School in Prekindergarten.

My favorite thing about camp are the fun projects and special events!  And I continue to work camp because I love getting to see the campers grow each summer they return!

My name is Rebecca Gober, and I am the Assistant Day Camp Director. I will be overseeing all activity directors and assistants to make sure they are equipped to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for our campers, as well as jumping into any activities where needed. During the school year, I am a fourth-grade math and science teacher at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, and I have been teaching there for four years.

Before becoming a teacher, I attended East Stroudsburg University and received a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. This will be my fourth year working for Summer Programs and my favorite part of camp is getting to know all the campers and seeing returning faces throughout the summer. I can't wait for another fun summer!

My name is Carole Tippett and I am delighted to be back again running Kids Kitchen for my 13th summer. During the school year, I am a teacher at Norwood Fontbonne Academy in Chestnut Hill in the Montessori Program. I have Masters’ degrees in Early Childhood and Elementary Education along with a certification in Montessori. I was fortunate enough to be a Chef in many restaurants in the tri-state area prior to my teaching career. I’m beyond thrilled I’m able to combine both of my passions: cooking and teaching!

My goal for the children is for them to feel comfortable in the kitchen. I would like them to realize that cooking is creating, and therefore thinking outside the box. All of our dishes are made from scratch; there is nothing from a jar or box.

I look forward to watching your child’s creativity blossom as they begin their exploration of the culinary arts!

I am so excited to be back for my 23rd summer at Germantown Academy Summer Programs! This is my 11th year as director of Belfry. Working with the theatre program and with the campers are my favorite part of the summer! During the school year Christy teaches instrumental music at East Hills Middle School in Bethlehem, PA.  She teaches marching and concert band, orchestra and jazz band. During her free time, she likes to cook, read, run, and spend time with her husband and her two dogs Cadence and Fenway.
