Upper School Debate Team Shines at Local Tournaments

The Upper School Debate Team has been quite busy this school year. At the Upper Dublin High School Tournament, Natalie Schildt '21 came in first place in Extemporaneous Speaking while teammate Stella Lee '23 came in first place in Impromptu Speaking. Anthony Hu '20 was undefeated in all three rounds of the Lincoln-Douglas debate. Together, Katherine Joson '23 and Serena Bagga '23 earned their first win of the season in the Public Forum debate.

“We’re off to a great start this season,” said advisor and Upper School History Teacher Janelle Collett.

The Patriots also competed at Council Rock South High School where Schildt had a first place finish in Extemporaneous Speaking, Lee had a first place finish in Impromptu Speaking, and Grace Brogan '21 had a first place finish in Declamation.

At the tournament held at Wissahickon High School, Sadie Andra '20 took first in Extemporaneous Speaking, Hu Hu and Solan O'Malley '20 had strong finishes in Lincoln-Douglas debate, and Helen Wu '21 and Priya Anand '21 had a strong finish in Public Forum debate.
