Seven GA Seniors Named National Merit Finalists

Germantown Academy is proud to announce that seven members of the Class of 2019 have been named Finalists of the National Merit Scholarship Program, including Jason Chee '19, Andrew Feng '19, Alexander Gu '19, Kevin Hou '19, Vinit Joshi '19, Priya Padhye '19, and Zoe Torrey '19.

Of the 1.6 million entrants, some 50,000 with the highest PSAT/NMSQT Selection Index scores qualify for recognition in the National Merit Scholarship Program. In September 2018, about 16,000 students, or approximately one-third of the 50,000 high scorers, were notified that they qualified as Semifinalists. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation will notify approximately 7,500 Finalists that they have been selected to receive a Merit Scholarship award. Merit Scholarship awards are of three types: National Merit $2500 Scholarships, Corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards, and College-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards.
