Germantown Academy Honors String Orchestra students Rebecca Rong '26 and Onyu Park '27 recently participated in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 11 Orchestra Festival from Jan. 22-24. Rebecca and Onyu qualified for the festival at auditions held in December. The festival was hosted by the Methacton School District and featured almost 120 musicians from schools in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. The students worked intensively over a day and a half to prepare an ambitious program under the direction of guest conductor Gary White, recently retired director of the Philadelphia Sinfonia. The concert on Saturday was a big success, with outstanding performances of several pieces, most notably the third and fourth movements of Dvorak's Symphony No. 8. Rebecca and Onyu represented Germantown Academy extremely well!
