Reverend Keith Williams, Sr. Celebrates 25 Years at GA

Reverend Keith Williams, Sr. P’01 ’03 ’11 is excited to be celebrating 25 years at GA! In addition to his role as an ambassador at admission events as GA’s Community Outreach Director, the whole Williams family has been a part of the GA fabric as well. In honor of Williams’ 25 years, we asked him five questions about his experience here.

Q.  Besides your official “title,” what is your role here at GA?

As Director of Community Outreach, my role at GA is to continue to assist present and future families by ensuring they’re having the greatest GA experience. This could be at any part of the admission process and all the way to graduation and beyond. I also help to diversify our community.

Q.  Why have you decided to stay here for 25 years?

I love serving the great GA community with Head of School Rich Schellhas 1760 and his predecessor Jim Connor 1760. It’s been a part of my ministry. GA has been a tremendous blessing to the Williams Family. My wife, Connie, taught in the Lower School for 17 years before retiring. We have three GA Alums, Keith, Jr. ’01, Courtney ’03, and Chierra ’11.

 Q.  What is your favorite thing you do in your job?

My favorite thing that I do at GA is working with and building up the GA Community (trustees, the Head of School, administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and students)

 Q.  What do you love most about GA?

I love GA’s willingness to do the best community outreach. GA has partnered with Project HOME and started the Community Partnership School in North Philadelphia over 22 years ago. I am honored to be a Founding Trustee of that school.

I also love our celebrations of Black History Month. I like having the opportunity to attend GA board meetings and retreats, working the am@GA admission events, and counseling parents and students.

Q.  Name something you are really interested in (not GA-related).

I have been in Pastoral Ministry for the past 45 years (40 years as the Pastor at the Nazarene Baptist Church in Philadelphia).I also love the Philadelphia sports teams (Eagles, 76ers, and Phillies). I had the honor of serving as their Chaplain in the early 80s!
