Germantown Academy's annual Preserve Day - a celebration of GA's outdoor spaces - was a huge success. More than 100 families from the GA community came to revel in the Preserve, outdoor classrooms, Green Roof, Academic Courtyard, and more during a beautiful Saturday in October.
Special thanks to GA science faculty - Lisa Martin, Dick O'Hern, Troy Holiday '01, Maura Saurman, and Sarah Kesten - and GA arts faculty - Jess Killo, Alia Tahvildaran, and Sara Krupnick-Ritz - along with help from GA's Student Green Ambassadors for putting on a great event.
Children and their families spent time making s'mores around a campfire, getting their arms painted with nature scenes, making beeswax candles, using flowers to make natural dyes, crafting dragonflies, creating an art installation with natural elements, and playing a game entitled, Guess What Wetlands Do.
