Middle and Upper School Patriots Shine at Inter-Ac Cross Country Championships

Germantown Academy put together a strong showing at the 2025 Inter-Ac League Cross Country Championships on Wednesday at Belmont Plateau, with multiple student-athletes earning top finishes in their respective races.

The Patriots made their presence felt from the start as Ethan L. '30 clocked a time of 11:06.4 to take second in the Mixed Middle School 3k. Brentley M. '30 finished fifth overall with a time of 11:25.3. Charlie G. '31 (12:18) finished 17th, and Pierson M. '32 (12:43.6) took 25th. August C. '30 (13:02.4) took 33rd to round out the GA scorers. As a team, the Patriots finished second with 72 points.

In the Boys Junior Varsity 5k, Liam Connelly '27 ran 20:10 to finish ninth overall. Alex Foster '27 (20:32 - 18th), Jack Dashine '27 (21:09.10 - 31st), Xavier Tubio '27 (21:29.3 - 34th), and Stavi Sterious '26 (21:43.8 - 36th) rounded out the scoring five for GA. Jocelyn Rizzi '27 (28:02.3) finished 31st in the Girls Junior Varsity 5k, while Lily Hutapea '27 (30.31.4) took 45th, and Pearl Harrington '29 (31:28) finished 49th.

The varsity boys and girls cross country teams each earned fourth-place finishes on the day.

On the girls side, the Patriots totaled 106 points, led by Nieve Keitel ’27, who clocked a 19:11.6 on the 5k course to finish fifth overall, and Shyna Patel ’29, who placed 19th in 21:44.0. Annabelle Steckel ’28 (24th, 22:41.5), Millie Evarts ’29 (28th, 23:08.2), and Lauren Truong ’26 (30th, 23:37.9) rounded out the team scoring, while Zoe Webster ’29 (32nd, 24:06.1) and Alyssa Burke ’27 (36th, 24:59.9) also competed.

The boys team tallied 72 points and featured two top-10 finishes. Tyler Benson ’27 led the way with a 16:56.6 to take fourth overall, followed closely by Walter Mulroy ’26, who finished sixth in 17:19.6. Grady Moore ’28 (15th, 18:05.8), Ethan Na ’26 (23rd, 18:35.6), and Evan Badami ’26 (24th, 18:40.2) completed the scoring. John Henry Brusca ’29(26th, 18:51.4) and JJ Gould ’27 (30th, 19:28.6) also turned in strong efforts.
