Patriot Energy On Display During GA/PC Spirit Week

GA students showed their school spirit through daily outfit themes during the annual GA/PC Spirit Week which concluded in an exciting pep rally as we cheered on our school, celebrated the senior Class of 2025, and rooted for our athletic teams ahead of the 138th GA/PC game, the longest continuous prep school football rivalry in America.

“GA students and employees across the school showed immense spirit during Spirit Week,” said Head of School Rich Schellhas 1760. “They participated joyfully and creatively in the different daily themes, Lower School Mission Week, and at our all-school pep rally. I am proud of how we represented our school during our largest community day of the year - GA/PC Day.”

Lower School

Lower School students showed their school spirit through their inaugural GA Mission Week. For each day, students celebrated one tenet of the GA Mission.

Monday, November 4: Students received the book My Indigo World: A True Story of the Color Blue by Rosa Chang, who visited the school earlier this school year. This book was gifted at our annual Piszek Family Book Gift assembly, made possible by the generosity of the Edward J. Piszek Memorial Book Fund (Ashley '15, Andrew '18, Beth P '15 '18, the late Bill '77 P'15 '18) which has been gifting books to students at Germantown Academy every year for many years and has become a much beloved tradition.

Wednesday, November 6: Students participated in a naming election for the four Lower School finches. PreK-2nd grade students held a primary election to create a fun list of name options. Then, students voted for the winners.

The winning names of the finches:

  • Sunny
  • Lulu
  • Lemon
  • Marshmallow

There are also now four baby finches!

Thursday, November 7: Students participated in Thank You Day, a project leading up to a Thanksgiving Assembly that will take place on November 26. They chose a person in their life they would like to thank and wrote them a letter, drew a picture, or created a poem to express their gratitude.
