Luke Philip '24 Receives Scholarship from the Green Family Foundation, Firstrust Bank

At the 55th annual Samuel A. Green Scholarship program ceremony, 18 high school seniors from the Greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley region were honored by the Green Family Foundation and Firstrust Bank. One of these deserving students was GA Student Government Association President Luke Philip '24, who was recognized at a ceremony held at Lincoln Financial Field.

The prestigious Samuel A. Green Scholarship Program, known for providing high school students with opportunities for financial assistance, awarded each recipient with a $20,000 scholarship spread evenly over four years. The selection process involved evaluating personal essays written by the students on how they plan to use their education to make a positive impact in their communities. Philip was a four-year letterwinner in cross country and track for the Patriots, a member of Truesdell House, a Cum Laude Society Inductee, and a Patriot Scholar. He will attend the University of Pennsylvania in the fall.

The recipients were chosen based on their responses to the foundation's mission of making a difference in their community through their college education, as well as a letter of recommendation highlighting their leadership skills. This year, a total of 440 students applied for the scholarship. GA is proud to note that this is the second-straight year we have had a recipient, with Sam Wang ’23 earning a scholarship last year. Congrats to Luke!
