In April, 24 Upper School science research students competed in the virtual Delaware Valley Science Fair (DVSF), which includes schools from the Lehigh Valley to southern Delaware, and from Chester County to the New Jersey shore. In total, 15 GA students earned first place, second place, third place, or honorable mention awards. GA students also won 22 special awards, including $1,125 worth of prize money and $173,000 in scholarship money. Moreover, Jason Wang '22 was the recipient of the 3rd Place Bronze Medal Award for the 11th Grade for his project, Brain Inflammation Induced by Chronic Sleep Deprivation. Since Wang finished third overall in his grade, he also qualified for the virtual Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), which will take place in May.
"Please congratulate all of the science research students, as they spent the school year diligently designing their projects, collecting data, and preparing a new PowerPoint presentation for and accompanying video file for the virtual virtual Delaware Valley Science Fair competition," said Director of Science Research Sarah Kesten. "Congrats, everyone!"
