GA Inducts 29 Seniors into the National Mathematics Honor Society

Germantown Academy is proud to recognize 29 seniors who were inducted into the GA chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, the national mathematics honor society, during a special luncheon on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in the Middle School Green.

The honorees included: Fore Abinusawa '22, Clare Alger '22, Atharv Awasthi '22, Hassan Ayub '22, Blythe Berlinger '22, Sangeetha Bhuyan '22, Caitlin Boland-Szura '22, Alex Cai '22, Sydney Cameron '22, Lilly Cannon '22, Jeffrey Cheng '22, Preet Dudhat '22, Ryan Gelman '22, Alexis Goodridge '22, Annabel Hellman '22, Jacob Hsu '22, Jack Liss '22, Emily Luo '22, Jack Maketa '22, Luke Marvin '22, Christine Meng '22, Henry Morrissey '22, Jenna Nolan '22, Riya Palkar '22, Cole Putnam '22, Brett Rabbiner '22, Seth Roth '22, Alaina Steck '22, and Rebecca Zaki '22.

"The math department is very proud of this fine group of young mathematicians," said Mathematics Department Head Jason Straub 1760. "They’ve contributed to the mathematical life of the school in many ways, and it was a treat for us to work with them during their time in the Upper School." 

To be eligible for Mu Alpha Theta, students must be seniors, must meet grade requirements for their honors level mathematics courses as well as an overall GPA requirement, and may not have earned any honors strikes within 12 months of induction. It is an honor to be selected for membership in this organization, which has over 2,100 chapters across the United States and in many foreign countries.
