GA Community Gives Others a Happy Thanksgiving

Germantown Academy parents, faculty/staff, and students participated in another successful Community Service Organization (CSO) Thanksgiving Food Drive last week. Community members brought in enough food to feed 150 families at Our Lady of Hope Church in Philadelphia, and send more than 1,800 pounds of food to the Mattie Dixon Community Cupboard in Ambler.

"Whether you sent in food or monetary donations, helped count and sort, contributed pretzels or waters, loaded food bags, or drove to the church - we could not have pulled-off this special event without the generosity of your time and effort. Also, a special recognition to the Wilson Family who safely transported 150 turkeys (aka 3,000lbs of bird) from GIANT to the Lady of Hope Church on Sunday! We feel so grateful that our community continues this tradition of providing for other families and communities during this festive time of year." - Jenny Brownstein and Sandra Tobias, Parent Co-Chairs, Thanksgiving Food Drive

Christine Bouley of Mattie Dixon said that this was the largest donation from GA to-date, and the food will feed the families that come to the Cupboard throughout the entire holiday season.

THANK YOU for your spirit of giving to all who participated! Happy Thanksgiving!
