Five Patriots Celebrate Their 25th GA Annivesary

On Monday afternoon, Germantown Academy’s faculty and staff celebrated the 25th “GA anniversary” of Lower School Spanish Teacher Marisa McAuliffe, Fifth Grade Teacher Graham Martin, Assistant to the Director of College Counseling Ginny Allenson, and Maintenance Supervisor Charlie Landgrebe 1760 during a special ceremony in the Honickman Auditorium. Unfortunately, our fifth celebrant, Chief Operating Officer Tom Taft, was away at the Inter-Ac Track and Field Championships.

"At GA we take tremendous pride in the fact that so many of our faculty and staff build their careers and raise their families here," said Head of School Rich Schellhas. "Even with the slew of well-deserved retirements over the past several years, our average tenture remains over 18 years.

"Today we honor five of GA's greatest, five hard-working souls who have made the academy a better place thorugh their intelligence, perserverance, ideas, and humor. They have, each in their own way, helped us significantly fulfill our mission to inspire students. Charlie Landgrebe, Ginny Allenson, Graham Martin, Marisa McAuliffe, and Tom Taft are friends to so many at GA, and I personally feel just lucky to know and work with them. One of our honorees today, Tom Taft, is, in fact, so busy helping to fullfill our mission at the rain date for the Inter-Ac track and field championships that he couldn't even be here today, but I promise we will celebrate him and hear Pete Jennings' speech for him at our faculty/staff appreciation event."
