Germantown Academy Head of Upper School Chris Nelson announced that 11 members of the Class of 2019 were named Commended Students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. The 11 GA National Merit Commended Students are Brian Basile '19, Brynne DiDonato '19, Daryl Dohner '19, Naomi Friedman '19, David Ghalili '19, Aman Gill '19, Maia Jenckes '19, Kevin Lamb '19, Conall Sweeney '19, Prithvi Venkatawswamy '19, and Kristine Wang '19.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2018 competition for National Merit Scholarship Awards, these Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
