Members of Project Management: Design for the Future recently visited the Comcast Technology Center in Philadelphia to gain inspiration from the popular Center City building.
"The ultimate goal of the field trips we take throughout the course is to inspire the students in their creation of spaces," said Grace Judge, who teaches the class and also serves as GA's Director of Technology.
The year-long elective is a student-centered course in which the students drive the learning. Students have been tasked with reimagining and designing spaces for a possible future Arts Center at GA.
"The Comcast Technology Center was selected because of its amazing digital media features and to experience the feeling of walking through a truly innovative building," said Judge. "The teams have just entered the Design Phase of their project with the ultimate goal of presenting their final design to the school community on April 22, from 6:30-8pm in the Beard Center for Innovation."
The design teams are as follows:
- Theater: Harry Mirabile '20 & Tara Babal '20
- Media Wing: Alex Bouchard '21, Rishi Mandapaka '21, Nick Niemynski '21, and Brina Cartagenova '20
- Main Entrance/Lobby/Gallery: Elizabeth Van Blarcom '20, Ella Henry '20, Gianna Murgia '20, and Sarah Alhadad '20.
