Class of 2026 Cum Laude Fall Honorees Announced

Congratulations to the following seniors on their early induction into the Cum Laude Society:

Evan Badami, Emmeline Chiang, Ava Dalton, Nathan George, Yobosa Idahosa , John-David Plechner, Rebecca Rong, Nina Sager, Elsa Simonetti, Tyler Tang, Ashley Wang, Audrey Yu, Chloe Zhou, Vincent Zhou, and Zachary Zighelboim.

Cum Laude is the most significant academic honor bestowed upon students at Germantown Academy. Secretary of the Germantown Academy chapter, US Dean of Faculty and US English Teacher Rebecca Burnett, made the announcement to the Upper School during morning meeting. These students represent half of the Class of 2026 that will be officially inducted in June 2026. Overall, each chapter may elect up to 20 percent of the members of the senior class in the college preparatory curriculum who have an honor record. The second half of seniors will be notified in the spring.

The national Cum Laude Society, the high school version of Phi Beta Kappa, consists of over 380 chapters, approximately two dozen of which are located in public schools and the rest in independent schools in the United States, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Canada, England, France, and Spain. Some 4,000 new student members are inducted annually.

Hats off to our first set of inductees!
