Eight Upper School Students Represented GA in Montgomery County Honors String Orchestra

Eight GA Upper School Honors Strings students participated in the Montgomery County Honors String Orchestra (MCHSO) this fall.

This year's MCHSO was comprised of 116 students from Montgomery County high schools. In addition to Germantown Academy, participating schools included Upper Moreland (who hosted this year’s festival), Abington, Plymouth Whitemarsh, Dock Mennonite Academy, Lower Moreland, Methacton, Norristown, North Penn, Perkiomen Valley, Pottsgrove, Springford, Upper Dublin, and Upper Merion.

The students worked under guest conductor Jack Moore, conductor of the Ambler and Old York Road orchestras and former classical music DJ on WRTI. There were four rehearsals during the fall, and the group held a concert on November 8, which was a big success!
