Upper School Gathers the Goods for Donation

GA, across all three divisions, recently completed our Thanksgiving Food Drive. In Upper School, students brought various Thanksgiving foods to school for donation within a week. We collected about 1,600 pounds of school to donate to the Mattie Dixon Cupboard in Ambler. As a CSO leader, I got the opportunity to go Ambler to drop off our donation with Sra. Márquez, the Upper School Community Service Organization Director and my Spanish teacher. The Mattie Dixon Cupboard was very impressed and thankful for our donation. Before we left, we got to see all of our donations stacked up in their stockroom. It was so heartwarming! Our donations were distributed among families in thirteen different neighborhoods in the area.

Pooja and Dr. Marquez with the gathered donations.

Here’s what the Mattie Dixon Cupboard had to say on their Facebook page: “A very big thank you to Germantown Academy who brought in close to 1,600 lbs. of Thanksgiving food today. Awesome job!! Happy holidays!!!”
