BRYN ATHYN – Germantown Academy’s wrestling team delivered a strong performance at the 2026 Pennsylvania Independent Schools Wrestling Tournament (PAISWT), finishing fourth overall and qualifying eight wrestlers for the National Prep Wrestling Championships, set for Feb. 20-21 at Lehigh University.

Leading the way was Shai Sabag '27, who captured the individual title at 132 lbs. with a 4-1 decision over Marcus Heck of Wyoming Seminary. His win makes him the third Prep State Champion under Head Coach John Staudenmayer. Max Berman '28 finished second at 120 lbs, dropping the championship bout to Wyatt Spencer of Wyoming Seminary.

Several other GA wrestlers fought through the consolation bracket to earn podium finishes. Dylan Deck '29 (106), Jack Baron '26 (126), Adam Seidman '27 (138), and West Borkowski '28 (165) all placed third. Baron, who lost his first bout to Alex Marchetti of Wyoming Seminary, won his next four matches in the consolation bracket by fall or tech fall to secure bronze. Deck and Borkowski won their final match by decision, while Seidman won by fall.
