Winter Track: Germantown Academy Shines at PAISAA States with Record-Breaking Performances and Top-Five Team Finishes

PHILADELPHIA – Germantown Academy’s track and field teams delivered outstanding performances at the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association State Championship, held at the Ott Center at the University of Pennsylvania. 

Girls Track and Field: Third Place
The Germantown Academy girls team scored 88 points, just missing out on the runner-up spot to Hill School (90 points).

Boys Track and Field: Fifth Place
The boys team put on a strong showing, securing 65 points in an impressive fifth-place finish.

Record-Breaking Performances
GA’s relay teams set the tone for the meet, shattering school records.

  • The girls 4x200 team of Shiyann Werts '28, Jocelyn Germain '28, Zoey Clark '26, and Piper Loney '27 set a school record with a time of 1:47.35.

  • The girls 4x400 team of Germain, Clark, Loney, and Nieve Keitel '27 set a school record of 4:14.92.

  • Germain set the school record in the Girls Long Jump, clearing 18' 5.5".

  • Jet Dickerson '26 ran the Boys 200m in 22.07 the set the school record.

Individual Standout Performances
Several Patriots athletes contributed to the team’s success with top finishes:

Boys' Results:

  • Dickerson: 1st in Boys Long Jump (21' 8" - New PA No. 28), 3rd in 200m (22.07 - PA No. 14), 4th in 60m (7.12)

  • Tyler Benson '27: 2nd in the Mile (4:27.85), 7th in 800m (2:08.02)

  • Arjun Lee '27: 4th in Pole Vault (11')

  • Brady McDonough '26: 5th in the 60m (7.15 - PR), 7th in the 200m (22.94)

  • Jason Wilson '28: 5th in the 400m (52.44 - PR)

  • Walt Mulroy '26: 6th in the 3000m (9:49.25), 10th in the Mile (4:47.74)

  • Wayne Lewis '28: 9th in Shot Put (35' 7.75")

Girls' Results:

  • Germain: 2nd in Long Jump (18' 5.5" - PA No. 7), 6th in the 60m (8.14 - PR)

  • Keitel: 2nd in the Mile (5:10.61), 4th in the 800m (2:19.09)

  • Ava Dalton '26: 2nd in the High Jump (4' 10")

  • Elli Wang '26: 2nd in Pole Vault (8' 2" - PR), 7th in Triple Jump (29' 2.5")

  • Layla Gentile '26: 2nd in Shot Put (37' 10")

  • Girls 4x200:  3rd with a New PA No. 32, (Werts, Germain, Clark, and Loney)

  • Clark: 4th in the 400m (1:02.18 - PR)

  • Naomi Wong '28: 4th in Pole Vault (6' 8"), 8th in Triple Jump (27' 10.25")

  • Germain, Clark, Loney, and Keitel ran a new PA No. 42 time of 4:14.92 and won the 4x400
