Track & Field: GA Girls Deliver Big Day, Finishes Second at Inter-Acs

NEWTOWN SQUARE -- Germantown Academy’s girls track and field team placed second at the Inter-Academic League Championships, totaling 123 points and recording 13 top-three finishes.

William Penn Charter claimed the team title with 206 points. Episcopal Academy (78.5), Baldwin School (55.5), Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (38), Academy of Notre Dame (27), and Agnes Irwin (12) rounded out the standings.

Highlights:

  • Piper Loney '27 won the 100m in 12.30, the No. 29 time in Pennsylvania this season. She also placed fifth in the triple jump (32').
  • Claire McKee '27 captured the 300m hurdles title in a personal-best 47.48.
  • Elli Wang '26 and Naomi Wong '28 finished first and second in the pole vault, clearing 7'6" and a personal-best 7', respectively.
  • Layla Gentile '26 won the shot put (37-2) and placed second in the discus (111-11).
  • The 4x800 relay team of Annabelle Steckel '28, Alyssa Burke '27, Isabella Munski '27, and Adriana Wenneker-Niggemeier '28 took first with a season-best time of 10:05.13.
  • The 4x100 relay of Emma Seckinger '27, Myree Jean-Brian '27, Jocelyn Germain '28, and Loney also claimed gold, running a season-best 48.88—now ranked No. 20 in Pennsylvania.
  • Ellie Falco '29 placed second in the 100m hurdles with a personal-best 18.00. She was the only freshman to finish in the top three.
  • Jocelyn Germain '28 earned second in the long jump (17'6.5").
  • Ruby McKee '29 finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 35'1".
  • Jo Owens '27 took third in the shot put with a personal-best 35'3.5".
  • The 4x400 relay team placed third in 4:00.81.
  • Emma Seckinger '27 added a fourth-place finish in the 200m (26.17)
  • Nieve Keitel '27 placed fourth in the 800m (2:17.84).
  • Wynne Campbell '28 recorded a personal-best throw of 58' to finish sixth in the javelin.

The Patriots now turn their attention to Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA) Championships on Saturday, May 16 at Malvern Prep. Last year, the team finished second at PAISAAs with 97 points.
