Maddie Burns '20 Represents Germantown Academy on U.S. Women’s National Team at IWLCA President’s Cup

Maddie Burns '20, Germantown Academy standout and former University of Michigan defender, will compete with the U.S. Women’s National Team at this month’s Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) President’s Cup in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. The event features more than 500 teams and an expected 10,000 athletes.

Burns, who has established herself as one of the top young defenders in the sport, is among 30 players invited to the U.S. training camp by head coach Acacia Walker Weinstein as the team prepares for the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship in Tokyo, Japan.

Burns joins a star-studded roster that includes 20 players who have previously won at least one world championship as part of the U.S. Women’s National Team Program.
