Swimming World magazine has once again released its annual high school rankings, honoring the nation’s top programs and Germantown Academy earned a spot among the very best. The Patriots finished fifth in the Independent Schools Top-10, solidifying their standing as one of the premier programs in the country.

GA scored 56 points in Swimming World’s calculations, placing behind Rosary (Illinois), Santa Margarita (California), Phillips Exeter (New Hampshire), and The Bolles School (Florida). 

The Patriots finished the 2024-25 season as Inter-Ac League champions and finished first at Easterns Scholastic Swimming & Diving Championships behind 13 top-three finishes. During the season, the team set or broke three school records. 

The rankings are compiled annually by Bob Klapthor, who scores every top high school swim performance nationwide on a 16-place system. With swimmers limited to two individual events and relays factored into the scoring, only the deepest and most versatile programs rise to the top.
