Germantown Academy Names Samir Patel Head Coach of Girls Cross Country

FORT WASHINGTON -- Germantown Academy Director of Athletics Tim Ginter has named Samir Patel the new head coach of Varsity Girls Cross Country.

“We are excited to welcome Samir Patel to the Germantown Academy Athletic Department,” Ginter said. “His thoughtful approach to coaching aligns perfectly with our mission of helping student-athletes grow, both on and off the course.”

Patel holds a USATF Level 1 Coaching Certification and brings over a decade of coaching experience in both cross country and track & field. He will continue to lead the Ambler Olympic Club (AOC), which he as done since 2018.

Before his tenure with AOC, Patel spent five years coaching with the Camden Clock Chaser Club, where he specialized in technical instruction, speed development, and race strategy across a variety of events. His emphasis on mental toughness, team communication, and individualized coaching helped guide athletes to success at all levels of competition.

“I’m excited to bring my positive energy and dedication to developing athletes through hard work, respect, and a true passion for the sport,” Patel said. “I strive to connect with students of all skill levels, fostering confidence and encouraging consistent effort both on and off the course and track. I’m honored to join the coaching team at GA and grateful for the opportunity.”

The Patriots finished fifth at Inter-Ac Championships and seventh at Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Championships in 2024. They return 10 letterwinners, including two All-Inter-Ac honorees.
