Germantown Academy Alumni Ben Feld and Rachel Magerman Join Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame

PHILADELPHIA -- Ben Feld '09 and Rachel Magerman '09 have been inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, joining an esteemed Class of 2025 that celebrates outstanding achievements in sports and dedication to the Jewish community.

The Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to sports on a national or international level, maintain ties to the Philadelphia region, and proudly represent the Jewish community. Feld and Magerman exemplify these values through their accomplishments and commitment both on and off the field.

Feld ’09 was inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of his accomplishments as both a player and coach. A Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP) major champion, Feld rose to prominence during his final years at Drexel University, where he played as a student-athlete. Just three years after graduating, at age 25, he became the youngest Division I head coach in the country, leading Drexel’s program to 19 tournament victories over nine seasons, including five Big 5 titles. Alongside his coaching career, Feld has achieved international success, winning gold at the 2015 European Maccabi Games and a silver medal at the Maccabiah Games in Israel, as well as capturing the Philadelphia Middle-Amateur Championship in 2017. Feld’s mentorship at Drexel has produced golfers who competed in three U.S. Opens, two PGA Tour events, and numerous USGA championships, elevating the program’s national reputation.

Rachel Magerman ’09 was inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in acknowledgement of her outstanding achievements in field hockey. At Germantown Academy, she excelled in field hockey and lacrosse, earning multiple Inter-Ac League titles, team captaincy, and national recognition as a High School All-American. She also represented the U.S. on the Under-16 and Under-18 National Teams and competed in the Maccabi Pan American Games. Beyond the field, Magerman co-founded Hockey for the House, an annual middle school tournament benefiting the Ronald McDonald House.

Magerman continued her success at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner and part of the 2009 NCAA Division I national championship team. She earned ACC Academic Honor Roll recognition, coached East Chapel Hill to three consecutive state titles, and captained the U.S. Maccabi Games field hockey team in Israel, leading them to a historic bronze medal while serving as one of Team USA’s flag bearers.
