FORT WASHINGTON -- Four student-athletes from three different athletic teams at Germantown Academy got shoutouts from Bucks County Courier Times on Jan. 10. Izzy Casey '24, Bryce Rollerson '25, Jack Baron '26, and Robert Leeds '25 were mentioned by the newspaper for their stellar performances on the court and on the mats.
Casey has done it all for the GA girls basketball team and got recognized for her games against Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and Agnes Irwin School on Jan. 3 and Jan. 5. "Casey dominated with 19 points, seven rebounds and three assists en route to a 59-36 victories over Springside-Chestnut Hill. Next, she tallied 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists as the Patriots downed Agnes Irwin in an Inter-Ac matchup."
Rollerson has been the primary scorer for the Patriots' boys basketball team and received recognition for his performance against Episcopal Academy on Jan. 6. "Rollerson scored 23 points, 11 coming from in the fourth quarter, as the Patriots turned a 2-point lead to start the fourth into a 70-59 win over Episcopal Academy."
Baron was mentioned as one of the top performers in the Courier Times' first wrestling rankings of the season, coming in as the No. 5 wrestler in the Bucks-Mont area at 114 pounds. To qualify, a wrestler must have a .500 record or better
Leeds was named a wrestler to "keep an eye on" at 121 pounds by the Courier Times.
