Five Germantown Academy Student Athletes Receive MileSplit All-City Recognition

FORT WASHINGTON -- In May 2025, MileSplit launched its inaugural All-City honors, a new national initiative designed to highlight the top high school track and field and cross country athletes in cities across the country. These recognitions serve as the first tier of a larger awards structure that will lead to All-State and, ultimately, All-MileSplit National honors.

The All-City program takes a data-driven approach, selecting athletes based on verified outdoor season performances. Each city features First, Second, and Third Teams, Honorable Mentions, and grade-level teams ranging from All-Freshman through All-Senior.

Germantown Academy is proud to announce that five Patriots were selected for these honors.

Tyler Benson ’27 — All-City Second Team & All-Junior Team

Benson earned dual recognition after a breakout season highlighted by a 16:09.10 performance at the 71st George School Invitational. His strong pacing and competitive consistency placed him firmly among the city’s top junior runners.

Walter Mulroy ’26 — All-City Third Team

Mulroy secured his spot on the All-City Third Team with a 16:39.70 at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University, one of the region’s premier early-season meets. His continued development and reliability were key contributors to GA’s overall success.

Nieve Keitel ’27 — All-City First Team & All-Junior Team

Keitel was one of GA’s top leaders this season, earning First Team All-City honors thanks to an impressive 17:51.00 at The VA XC Showcase. Her elite-level performance and consistency also placed her on the All-Junior Team.

John Henry Brusca ’29 — All-Freshman Team

Brusca made an immediate impact in his first high school season and second with the varsity team. His 17:43.70 at the 71st George School Invitational secured him a place on the All-Freshman Team, signaling a bright future ahead.

Shyna Patel ’29 — All-Freshman Team

Patel continued her standout freshman campaign with a 21:05.27 at the 57th Annual Mill Street Run, earning her recognition among the top freshmen in the city.
