GA@Home

GA@Home (details by division below) may only be used for health care provider-ordered COVID-19 quarantine reasons. No student may engage in GA@Home for any other reason.

Lower School:

  • In the Lower School, students who are required to stay home due to a COVID-19 quarantine up to a maximum of two weeks will have access to short-term, grade-specific, small group virtual check-ins with an assistant teacher. The Assistant Teacher for Virtual Instruction will be the student’s and parents’ point person during this period. These check-ins are optional for students.
  • These check-ins will range from 30-60 minutes per school day and will be based on the core curriculum (math and literacy) presented in homeroom classes the day before. Specialist class content will not be posted or reviewed.
  • Parents must present a note from a health care provider and ask for permission from the Head of Lower School to engage in GA@Home by noon the day before they wish GA@Home to begin.
  • Students quarantining due to Covid-19 and their parents/guardians will be able to access the previous day’s assignments online. Class assignments will only be posted if at least one student in class is home in quarantine.
  • Direct instruction for core and specialist curriculum will resume once the student returns to campus. Students at home will not be able to livestream instruction in the regular homeroom classroom or specials.

Middle & Upper Schools:

  • In the Middle & Upper Schools, students who are required to stay home by a health care provider due to a COVID-19 quarantine up to a maximum of two weeks will be able to access livestreamed instruction in their core academic subjects via GA@Home (through individual teacher’s Zoom links).
  • Parents must present a note from a health care provider to the Middle or Upper School Head and ask for permission to engage in GA@Home by noon the day before they wish GA@Home to begin.
  • Once their participation in GA@Home is approved by the MS or US Office, students should also directly contact their advisors and teachers the day before to let them know they will be livestreaming in the next school day.
