Varsity Coed Indoor Track & Field
Citius, altius, fortius -- faster, higher, stronger. Track and field is not about what kind of athlete you currently are, but rather about becoming the best athlete you can be. GA’s track and field program is centered on growth, so each athlete can find success as he or she trains and competes with others in order to run faster, jump farther, and throw stronger. And the best part about the Winter Track season is that we get to train through the toughest elements all winter long!

Peter JenningsAssistant Coach - Distance, Mid-DistancePete Jennings '99 took over as head coach of the boys' cross country team in 2007. In 2010, Jennings guided the Patriots to an undefeated season and a Inter-Ac League Championship. That same year, GA finished second at States (Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association meet) and Jennings was named the PAISAA Cross Country Coach of the Year. In 2017, the team went 3-4, but consistently registered season-best times. Jennings helped coach Matthew Sandifer '20 to a First Team All-Inter-Ac selection. Jennings graduated from GA in 1999 and was captain of his cross country and track teams. He ran Division I cross country and track at the University of Richmond where he was selected to two Atlantic-10 All-Conference teams, and was named team captain and team MVP. He has also been GA's head boys' track and field coach since 2005.

Although the winter sports are finished, it is time to recognize the student-athletes who performed at a high level during the season.
While the other winter sports wrapped up in February, the indoor track and field team still had athletes competing. On March 10, two Germantown Academy athletes made the most of their trip to the New Balance Nationals in New York, earning top finishes in their events.
Although the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association (PTFCA) Indoor State Championships concluded on Feb. 25, Caleb Johnson '19 is still excited when he thinks about his performance. Not only did the junior record a personal best 16' in the pole vault, he set the Germantown Academy school record in the event.
As the winter months wind down, so does the indoor track & field season. Only one meet remains on the schedule now that the Pennsylvania Track & Field Coaches Association (PTFCA) Indoor State Championship has concluded. However, that does not mean that the performances put together at that meet will be forgotten.
Germantown Academy played host for the GA Shot Put Invitational for the second time this season. Much like the first event, which was held on Jan. 19, the Patriots saw success as individuals and as a team.
