Guadalupe PrinceHead Coach
Lupe Prince completed her ninth season as Head Coach of Germantown Academy’s Varsity Boys Tennis team in 2025, continuing a stretch of consistent competitiveness in the Inter-Ac League.
In 2025, the Patriots finished third in the league with an 8-4 overall record and a 6-4 mark in Inter-Ac play. Five student-athletes were recognized with All-League honors: Alex Katzer ’25, Aiden Swartz ’25, Vincent Zhou ’26, Justin Huang ’27, and Ben Getson ’25.
The previous season, GA finished second in the league with an 11-4 overall record and a 5-3 league mark. Five players were again named to the All-League team: Katzer, Armon Meinstein ’24, Max Baer ’24, Huang, and Zhou.
Prince led the 2023 Patriots to a share of the Inter-Ac League title, going 10-2 overall and 9-1 in league play. That year marked the program’s first appearance in Day Two of the prestigious Shafer Doubles Tournament at Episcopal Academy. Five players earned All-League honors.
In 2022, GA captured another share of the league title with an 11-1 overall record and an 8-1 performance in Inter-Ac competition. Five Patriots were named to the All-League team.
GA did not compete in 2020 due to the pandemic.
In 2019, the team posted a 5-7 record (2-3 Inter-Ac), and in 2018, finished 7-8 (2-3 Inter-Ac), with one player earning All-League recognition.
Before arriving at Germantown Academy, Prince served as the head coach of the varsity girls’ team at Gwynedd Mercy Academy. There, she guided the Monarchs to three Athletic Association of Catholic Academies League titles (2008, 2012, 2014), a District 1 Championship (2014), and a semifinal appearance in the 2014 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) state tournament. Prince also coached at Wissahickon High School as an assistant boys’ tennis coach from 2012–2016. During her tenure, the Trojans won two Suburban One League American Conference titles (2012, 2016), finished as District I runners-up, and reached the quarterfinals of the PIAA state tournament in 2016.
