Varsity Boys Cross Country

Pete Jennings '99 begins his 20th year as the Head Coach for boys cross country at Germantown Academy in 2026.

The team opened 2025 by placing fourth at the Lansdale Invitational. At the George School Invitational the boys placed sixth. The team ended the year with fourth-place finishes at Inter-Ac League and PAISAA Championships.

In 2024, the Patriots placed three runners on the Inter-Ac All-League Team, finished fourth at Inter-Ac Championships, and seventh at PAISAA Championships.

In 2023, the Patriots placed two runners on the All-Inter-Ac League team, finished fourth at Inter-Ac Championships, and 10th at the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Championships.

During the 2022 season, the Patriots finished fifth at the Inter-Ac League Championships, and ninth at the PAISAA Championships.

His 2021 team finished fifth at the League Championships, with Alex Badami '22 finishing second overall to lead the Patriots. GA also finished sixth at the PAISAA Meet. The team raced four times in 2020, going 2-4 against its opponents.

In 2019, the Patriots finished second at the Inter-Ac Championships. Robert DiDonato '21 and Matthew Sandifer '20 went one-two for GA, followed by Alex Badami '22 and Ethan Feigles '22, who finished seventh and ninth, respectively. The Patriots finished fourth overall at PAISAAs, where DiDonato and Sandifer again went one-two. DiDonato went on to make history when he became the first GA student-athlete to qualify for Foot Locker Nationals.

The 2018 season saw GA finish third in the league and fifth at the PAISAA Championship. The team finished the regular season with a perfect record in league dual and tri-meets. In 2017, the team went 3-4 but consistently registered season-best times.

Jennings graduated from Germantown Academy in 1999 and was the captain of his cross country and track teams. He ran Division I cross country and track at the University of Richmond, where he was selected to two Atlantic-10 All-Conference teams, and was named team captain and team MVP.

Matt Notary became an assistant coach of the boys' cross country team in 2007. He graduated from Liberty High School (Bethlehem, PA) in 1996 and was captain of the track team. He ran Division 1 track at Princeton University where he specialized in the 800 meters and helped the team to win three consecutive Heptagonal championships in both indoor and outdoor track. He has also been an assistant coach for boys' and girls' track and field at GA since 2007.

I really enjoy seeing our runners train hard every day and then, on race days, experience the thrill of conquering that difficult section of a cross country course or running a personal best time on the track."

Tom "Sensei" Jennings has been a member of the boys cross country and track & field programs since 2012.
