Winter Track & Field: Throwers Record Personal Bests at GA Shot Put Invitational

FORT WASHINGTON -- Germantown Academy's field house hosted 12 teams on Dec. 11 for the first GA Shot Put Invitational of the 2024-25 season. Over 55 throwers took part in the competition.

Girls Highlights

  • Layla Gentile '26 was crowned champion with a personal-best throw of 39' 11.75" and won by over five feet. Her throw currently ranks as the best in Pennsylvania.
  • Brynn Sweeney '26 took fifth with a season-best throw of 27' 01".
  • Farihah Kemp '25 threw a personal-best 26' 5.75" to take seventh place. 
  • Natalie Rivers '27 (23' 9.5"), Alexis Farnsworth '26 (23' 9"), Tess Grim '28 (17' 9"), and Anna Houston '26 (17' 6.5") all recorded personal-best throws.

Boys Highlights

  • Brandon Truszkowski '26 recorded a personal-best throw of 43' 10.25" to finish fifth.
  • Robbie Boudreau '26 placed seventh with a 39' 0.5" throw.
  • Zach Kniese '25 threw 38' 8.5" to finish ninth.
  • Kenny Lee '25 (33' 8"), Noah Garretson '27 (32' 3.25"), Will Hamilton '28 (31' 6"), Stephen White '27 (29' 0.5"), Harrison Peet '27 (28' 8.5"), Ronit Banga '27 (27' 11"), John Brightcliffe '27 (27' 8"), William Chambley '27 (26' 9.5"), Sam Magliari '26 (23' 10.5"), and Joah Perlman '28 (20') recorded personal bests.
