Volleyball: Germantown Academy Handles Shipley in PAISAA Tournament, Advances to Semi-Final

FORT WASHINGTON -- After receiving a first-round bye in the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association tournament, Germantown Academy's volleyball team opened its postseason campaign on Oct. 31 against Shipley School. The Patriots had gotten the best of Shipley earlier in the season, winning 3-1, and proved to once again be too much for the Gators to handle, winning the latest match 3-0 (25-7, 25-9, 25-10).

GA posted a season-high .400 hitting percentage in the match and were in control from the start. Caroline Smith '25 recorded a team-high 12 kills in the match while Kate Stone '23 had six, and Kaitlin Pokorny '24 and Ellie Smith '23 each had five.

Angie Wang '24 filled out the stat sheet with 21 assists, seven digs, nine aces, and one kill. Pokorny recorded a team-high 10 aces.

Germantown Academy hosts Baldwin School in the PAISAA Semi-Final on Nov. 2 at 4pm. The Patriots are 2-0 against the Bears this season, taking both games 3-1.
