Track & Field: Germantown Academy Competes at Phoenixville Invitational

PHOENIXVILLE -- Germantown Academy's track teams opened up their seasons on Saturday, March 18 at the Phoenixville Classic at Phoenixville High School. There was no team scoring for this meet.

Devon Geist '26 debuted in the 100m Hurdles against some steep competition, but finished with a time of 21.73 to take 13th. She also placed fourth in the High Jump (4'0") and sixth in the Pole Vault clearing a personal-best height of 6’6". Maddy Donches '24 took third in the High Jump, and took fourth in the Pole Vault clearing 6’6", both personal bests. Lorelai Fortmann '25 medaled in the Pole Vault clearing an outdoor PR of 7'0".

The Girls 4×100 Relay team of Maggie Salerno '26, Kayla Sweeney '24, Giah Sharf '26, and Emma Shapiro '26 ran hard, taking fourth place in 56.15. Layla Gentile '25 and Kate Stone '23 took fourth and fifth in the Girls Shot put, recording throws of 28'7" and 27'8", respectively. 

Robby Bright '25 took first in the Boys Pole Vault with an outdoor PR of 11'6", while Adrian Diem '25 finished second with a PR of 11'. Alex Brereton '24, who finished eighth, also hit a PR of 8'6". Mario Toscano '24 finished second in the Boys Shot Put with a 43'8" throw. Evan Badami '26 took second in the 400m Dash with an outdoor PR time of 51.72, while Lucas Philip finished second in the 1600 with a time of 4:39.84. 

Jet Dickerson '26 placed fourth in the 110 Hurdles, with Ellis Johnson '25 right behind him in fifth. Dickerson also debuted in the Javelin, placing seventh with a throw of 114’8". The excitement peaked with the Boys 4x200 Relay, when Dickerson, Aaron Parks '23, Ellis Johnson '25, and Badami placed third in the meet with a new school record of 1:39.

The Patriots will wait until April 12 for their next meet, when they travel to William Penn Charter for a 4pm meet.
