Softball: Penn Charter Pulls Away From Patriots

By: Joe Cicchino - Sports Information Assistant

PHILADELPHIA -- Germantown Academy traveled to Penn Charter on May 7 to take on the Quakers for the second time this season. Despite some standout-defensive plays from GA, Penn Charter came away with the victory, 8-0.

Shelby Kuehnle '19 opened the Inter-Ac League contest on the mound and threw the first three innings. Angelina Sannicandro '22 took over in the fourth, trailing 3-0. After five innings, Penn Charter led, 4-0.

Sarah DiLello '20 made her mark on the game with an unassisted double play, her fourth such play of the season. Head Coach Brett Pulli called it "the play of the game for sure."

Penn Charter opened things up late in the game, extending its lead to 8-0.

The Patriots will travel to Episcopal Academy on May 10, looking for their third league win of the season.
