Softball: Patriots Open 2026 Season with 9-0 Shutout at Shipley

BRYN MAWR -- Germantown Academy opened the 2026 season in commanding fashion on March 10, earning a 9-0 road victory over Shipley School. The win marked the first for first-year Head Coach Robert Yoos and gave the Patriots a 1-0 start for the first time since 2022.

GA wasted little time setting the tone, plating two runs in the top of the first inning before breaking the game open with a six-run third. The Patriots added an insurance run in the seventh to cap the scoring.

Erin Showaker '27 paced the offense with three hits, while Zoey Clark '26 and Keagan Daniel '28 each recorded two-hit performances. Keira Pulli '29 drove in a team-high three runs, and Jillian Sabatino '29 and Taylor Leuzzi '27 added two RBI apiece. Clark, Showaker and Aubrey Daniel '26 each crossed the plate twice.

In the circle, Sabatino was dominant, allowing just two hits over seven shutout innings. She struck out 11 and walked four to secure the complete-game victory.

The Patriots return to action on Friday, March 13, when they host Pennsbury High School in a non-league contest scheduled for 4 pm.
