Softball: Germantown Academy Softball Defeats Friends’ Central 8-3, Improves to 2-0

BRYN MAWR — Germantown Academy continued its strong start to the 2026 season on March 18, earning an 8-3 road victory over Friends’ Central. The 2-0 opening marks the Patriots’ best start since 2022, when they began the year 3-0.

The Patriots found themselves trailing early after Friends’ Central pushed across two runs in the bottom of the first inning. GA responded in the middle innings, plating five combined runs in the third and fourth to take control of the game. After the Phoenix trimmed the deficit with a run in the fifth, the Patriots answered decisively with a three-run sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

Zoey Clark '26 (Notre Dame commit) paced the offensive effort with a four-hit performance, while Zoe Manning '30 added three hits. Seven Patriots recorded at least one hit in a balanced attack. Manning drove in a team-high two runs, while Paige Sipler '27, Keira Pulli '29, Jillian Sabatino '29, Taylor Leuzzi '27, and Jane Cassidy '28 each recorded an RBI. Clark also crossed the plate three times, leading six different Patriots who scored in the win.

In the circle, Manning delivered a complete-game performance, allowing two earned runs on seven hits over six innings. The right-hander struck out nine and walked two to earn the victory.

Germantown Academy returns to action on Tuesday, March 24, when it hosts Conwell Egan Catholic High School in a non-league matchup scheduled for 4pm.
