Ice Hockey: Patriots Tally Eight Straight Goals to Down Blue Devils on Senior Day

COLMAR -- When Germantown Academy's ice hockey team last did battle with Independence Hockey League foe Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, they dispatched the Blue Devils 11-2 on the road behind five goals from Mick Tronoski '28. In the second meeting between the teams, the Patriots got off to a slow start, but ultimately came away with a 9-4 victory. 

The Blue Devils struck first, finding the back of the net just two minutes into the game. Dominic Perazza '25 leveled the score at the 8:34 mark in the first period, only for SCH to retake the lead 90 seconds later. They would score again to open the second period to go up 3-1. However, the Patriots came roaring back.

Harrison Steinberg '25 scored the first of eight-straight goals by the Patriots, who took their first lead of the game with 10:40 to play in the second period on a Kelly Matozzo '28 goal. The Blue Devils ended GA's run in with 3:17 to play, but were unable to topple the Patriots. 

Germantown Academy is 7-1-2 overall (6-0-1 IHL) and are unbeaten in their last eight games. They return to action on Jan. 23 against Academy of the New Church at 4:45pm.
