Golf: PC Edges Past GA on the Links

By: Joe Cicchino - Sports Information Assistant

BLUE BELL -- The GA-PC Day festivities have officially gotten underway. Donning mohawks and designs in their hair, members of the Germantown Academy golf team hit the links to take on Penn Charter in match play.

The Patriots dropped a close contest to the Quakers, 4.5 to 3.5. Eric Lafond '20, Collin McDonald '21 and Seth Roth '22 all won their matches, while Luke Marvin '22 halved his.

"I would like to say thanks to our seniors as they guided us through the darkness this year," Lafond said. "Today on the course we just got out played. We took the hero shots but forgot the team shots."

Many of the matches came down to the wire, but the Patriots were unable to pull them out. As a result, Penn Charter takes a 1-0 advantage going into GA-PC Day on Nov. 10.

After the match, members of the team were able to reflect on the year as well as look forward to the future.

"I think the team didn't play as well as it could have today, but it still was a very fun year and I'm looking forward to our chances next season," McDonald said. "I would like give a shoutout to the three seniors for making the past two years on the team a great experience."
