Girls Water Polo: Patriots Stun Churchwomen

FORT WASHINGTON--The Patriots are officially on a roll. After an overtime loss to The Hill School on Sept. 13, Germantown Academy's girls water polo team has rattled off five consecutive victories, including a thrilling 17-15 victory over visiting Episcopal Academy, a team, at times, that has given the Patriots problems in the past.

GA and EA were tied at halftime, but the Patriots' persistence on offense and no-quit attitude on defense paid dividends as GA managed to double-team EA's top players and score two goals in the last two minutes of the game.

Alexa Naessens '18 and Emily Morrissey '19 powered GA's offense with eight goals and three assists apiece. Riley Gobora '18 added a goal and Shelby Kuehnle '19 chipped in with an assist. In net, goalie Elle Stauffer '20 tallied 12 saves.
