Girls Track & Field: Germantown Academy Claims Second Place at PAISAA Championships

MALVERN -- The Germantown Academy girls track & field team delivered a powerhouse performance at the 2025 Pennsylvania Independent School Athletic Association Championships, finishing in second place overall with 97 points, just three points behind the Episcopal Academy girls for the title.

Leading the way was Nieve Keitel '27, who claimed the PAISAA title in the 1600m and added a strong runner-up finish in the 800m. Keitel also anchored the 4x400m relay, helping the squad to a second-place finish and a new school record of 4:01.27 alongside teammates Adriana Wenneker-Niggemeier '28, Jocelyn Germain '28, and Piper Loney '27.

In the field events, Lorelai Fortmann '25 made history by becoming the PAISAA Pole Vault Champion, setting a new meet record and personal best at 11-01.00. Zoe Hellman '25 and Elli Wang '26 added valuable points in the same event, placing third and seventh, respectively.

The 4x100m relay team of Germain, Myree Jean-Brian '27, Lyla Perry '26, and Loney sprinted to gold with a season-best time of 49.56 seconds, securing another PAISAA title for GA.

In the throws, Layla Gentile '26 showcased her versatility, taking second in the shot put and third in discus, while Harper Sylva '28 delivered a massive personal best in the javelin, launching 98 feet to place second.

Additional standout performances included:

  • Ava Dalton '26: 4th in the high jump (5 feet)

  • Piper Loney '27: 4th in the 100m | 6th in the 200m

  • Kaylin Trent '27: 4th in the 300m hurdles with a new PR of 49.79 seconds
