Girls Swimming & Diving: Patriots Cruise to Inter-Ac Invitational Title

NEWTOWN SQUARE — With the regular season Inter-Ac League title under their belts, Germantown Academy’s girls swimmers began championship season with a trip to Episcopal Academy for the Inter-Ac League Invitational, while the divers stayed in Fort Washington for the League Diving Championships. Behind three event victories, the Patriots turned in the top score with 367 points, besting the second-place EA team by over 100 points.

GA opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay, as the A team of Amelia Gipson '27, Anabella Perez-Mercedes '29, Emerson Choudry '27, and Arden Keitel '27 finished in 1:45.66. Mazie Williams '27 touched first in the 100 Backstroke, finishing the event in 58.74. 

The Patriots dominated 1-meter diving, sweeping the top two spots. Ana Navarro '28 claimed first with 288.20 points, while Maddie Evers '26 was second with 271.60. Elizabeth Kenesky '29 took fourth with 206.05 points.

GA returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 13 when they compete at Easterns Swimming & Diving Championships at Franklin & Marshall College. The GA girls have won Easterns each of the last four seasons.
