Girls Swimming & Diving: Germantown Academy Bests Penn Charter to Stay Undefeated
FORT WASHINGTON -- Prior to their Inter-Ac League dual meet against Penn Charter on Jan. 7, Germantown Academy's Head Coach Jeff Thompson told his team that he thought they could be tested by the Quakers. While the margin of victory was the slimmest it has been all season, the Patriots still prevailed, 104-79.
Highlights
- Emily Hamill '25 won the 200 Freestyle (1:49.26) and 100 Freestyle (52.00).
- Amelia Gipson '27 touched first in the 200 IM (2:06.73). She also finished second in the 100 Butterfly (56.68)
- Sarah Freeman '25 won the 50 Freestyle in 23.46. She finished third in the 100 Butterfly in 56.75
- Karly Boles '25 won the 100 Backstroke in 55.62, and was second in the 50 Free (24.31).
- GA swept the diving portion of the meet, with Ana Navaro '28, Laurel DePolo, and Maddie Evers '26 going 1-2-3.
- Camryn Jones '26 won the 500 Freestyle in 4:56.58 and took second in the 200 IM in 2:10.03.
- Grace Bell '27 touched first in the 100 Breaststroke, going 1:07.58.
- The 200 Freestyle Relay team of Freeman, Arden Keitel '27, Gipson, and Hamill won the event in 1:35.85.
- Freeman, Boles, Keitel, and Hamill made up the 400 Freestyle Relay Team that touched first in 3:26.02.
