Girls Lacrosse: Patriots Pull Out Victory Over Lawrenceville in Overtime

FORT WASHINGTON -- Germantown Academy's girls lacrosse team braved rainy conditions on April 2 when they faced off against Lawrenceville School in non-league action. Despite the less than ideal conditions, the Patriots earned a gutsy 12-11 win in overtime to level their record at 1-1.

After finding themselves trailing 7-4 at halftime, the Patriots flipped the script, outscoring their opponent 7-4 in the second half to force overtime. In the extra frame, University of Connecticut-commit Lucia Smigiel '24 picked up her lone assist of the game, finding William & Mary-commit Gigi Ippoldo for her second score of the game, and one that gave GA the win.

The Patriots are slated to return to action on April 3 against Mount Saint Joseph Academy on the road at 3:45.
