FORT WASHINGTON -- Earlier this season, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy earned a tight win over Germantown Academy, 11-10. On May 14, the Patritos hosted the Blue Devils for the final game of the season and for a chance to get another Inter-Ac League win. 

GA had seven players score in the contest and were able to best SCH, 13-4. Zoe Torrey '19 made seven saves on the day.

After a tough outing against the Blue Devils back in April, the Patriots defense stymied Springside Chestnut Hill this time around. The four goals allowed on the day were the lowest amount GA has surrendered all year.

On offense, Olivia Doody '19 led the way with four goals. Cassidy Palazzo '22 added three goals, while also winning four draw controls. Elise Smigiel '21 scored twice and had three draw controls, while Elizabeth Van Blarcom '20, Cameron Korman '19, Mackenzie Smith '21 and Grayson Gross '19 had one goal each. 

With the regular season now over, Germantown Academy turns its focus towards the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association Tournament. On May 17, the Patriots will be playing their first-round game against the Blue Devils. Head Coach Mary Dean said that it is a matchup that everyone is excited for.

"We are now 1-1 with them so I’m glad we have the opportunity to break that tie," Dean said. "I told the team today, 'we have to play with a lot of heart in order to win.' They certainly did that. As long as we support each other and play with that same amount of heart, we should have the same outcome."
