FORT WASHINGTON -- Just one day after defeating Inter-Ac League opponent Notre Dame 13-7, Germantown Academy's girls lacrosse team welcomed Mercersburg Academy to Oberkircher Field on May 10 for a non-league clash. Behind seven different goal scorers, the Patriots proved to be too much for the Blue Storm and won the contest, 19-10. GA never trailed in the game. 

Emma Goodwin '24 scored the first goal of the contest at 22:58 and bookended a 5-0 GA run to start the game. Mercersburg tallied its first score at the 15:00 mark, but were unable to maintain any consistent offense as GA rattled off the next four goals before the Blue Storm would score again. Three goals from Cate Luviano '24 and a score from Sydney Wanner '25 in the waning moments of the first half gave the Patriots a 13-2 advantage at the break. 

While the Patriots were outscored in the second half, the lead they had built was too much for Mercersburg to overcome. Goodwin, Wanner, Sarah Marvin '23, and Maggie Borek '24 all tallied goals in the second frame for GA. Sadie Hess '25 stood strong in net with eight saves. 

Germantown Academy returns to action on May 12 when they host league rival William Penn Charter. The Patriots topped PC on the road just over two weeks ago, 9-8.
