Germantown Academy Director of Athletics Tim Ginter has named Rob Yoos the new head coach of varsity softball.
"While it was my privilege to serve as the interim softball coach last season, I am happy to announce that we have found the right person to lead the program forward,” Ginter said. “Coach Yoos impressed the administration and the student-athletes with his vision for future success. We believe his enthusiasm, his coaching experience, and his passion for the sport will inspire our players to excel, grow the program, and add to the GA softball legacy.”
Yoos brings a deep coaching resume to Fort Washington, most recently serving as the head coach of the PA Chaos 18U Fastpitch team—part of one of the nation’s top travel softball programs. Over the last eight years, Yoos has held head and assistant coaching positions with the PA Chaos organization, working with high school athletes from across the Mid-Atlantic region. During his tenure, the program consistently helped place 10 to 20 players annually onto NCAA Division I college softball rosters.
Prior to his time with PA Chaos, Yoos coached travel softball with the Warrington Blue Thunder and the Warrington-Warwick Softball Organization, mentoring athletes at all age levels from 10U through 18U. Known for his focus on the physical and mental aspects of performance, Yoos emphasizes team defense, game awareness, and the long-term development of student-athletes.
"I am excited about the opportunity to be the varsity softball coach at Germantown Academy,” Yoos said. “I will do all that I can to make the GA softball program successful in all aspects, and I can't wait to get to work with the team."
A lifelong athlete and coach, Yoos was a Division I wrestler and team captain at Lafayette College and a three-time NCAA Championships qualifier. Yoos is a seasoned professional in the technology and consulting sectors, currently serving as an associate partner and complex program manager at IBM.
The Patriots return 12 players from the 2025 team that finished the season 9-8 overall and 5-5 in the Inter-Ac League.
