GA Alumni Perform Well at Conference Championships
Germantown Academy has had a successful spring season on the track and that seems to have carried over into the pool of track & field alumni as well. A handful or former Patriots competed in their conference championship meets recently, earning high marks.
- Abbe Goldstein '17 took fourth in the Women's 800 at Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Conference Championships. Goldstein ran the event in 2:07.88 for New Mexico, and also ran the 5000m in 16:23.56, finishing sixth in that event.
- Kelsey O'Hara '18 took seventh overall in the 800m at the 2022 Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Running for College of the Holy Cross, O'Hara finished the race in 2:14.99.
- Ola Abinusawa '19 placed seventh in the Shot Put at Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships. Abinusawa registered a throw of 16.06m for Penn.
- Issy Goldstein '20 took second in the Women's 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:28.53. She also ran part of the Women's 4x800 relay for Harvard, which finished with a time of 8:57.46
- Katie Sands '20 was a member of the Women's 4x800 for Hamilton College at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championships. The team finished in 9:47.57, taking seventh.
- SJ Cohen '20 took fifth in the pole vault, clearing 3.86m for Princeton.
- For Johns Hopkins, Matthew Sandifer '20 took 11th in the Men's 1500m Run with a time of 4:01.38. He also ran the Men's 5000m in 15:01.32, taking 17th.
- Meaghan Toscano '20 recorded a throw of 12.83m in the Women's Shot Put for Harvard. She also threw 43.83m in the discus. She took eighth in both events.
- Robert DiDonato '21 finished 26th in the Men's 5000 at the Pac-12 Championships. DiDonato ran a 14:31.50 for Stanford.
- Sarah Fineman '21 took first place in the Women's Shot Put for Emory at the University Athletic Association Outdoor Championships with a personal-best throw of 12.62m. Her mark is the sixth-best in Emory history. Fineman also placed fourth in the discus with a 36.41m throw.
