Football: Jack Sheridan '19 Recognized by National Football Foundation

By: Joe Cicchino - Sports Information Assistant

VILLANOVA -- Before the 2018 football season even began, Jack Sheridan '19 was garnering attention from local media, earning spots on Penn Live's list of the top 150 college football prospects in the class of 2019 and on the list of Southeastern Pennsylvania's standout defensive players.

Throughout the season, the senior captained Germantown Academy's defense en route to Second Team All-Inter-Ac honors. However the awards did not stop there, as Sheridan was recently awarded the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award from the Philadelphia Chapter.

The criteria to make the NFF National High School Scholar-Athlete Class include academic achievement, athletic accolades and community involvement. Each chapter is limited to one honoree, distinguishing them as the top scholar-athlete from all the high schools covered by the chapter

Beginning in 2018, the top high school scholar athlete submitted by each NFF Chapter will be recognized as part of the NFF National High School Scholar-Athlete Class. The NFF's new initiative honors the top high school scholar-athletes from around the country and the NFF Chapter Network as the best and the brightest at the local level.
